Gabrielle Lory, M.A.
Gabrielle is a first year PhD student in the Department of Sociology, with a focus on Criminology. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Georgia in 2016 and her Master of Arts in Criminology in 2018. Her research interests include rural crime, victimology, intersectionality, and gender. Her thesis examined the use of alternative sentencing methods for violent crimes. She currently works as a Graduate Research Assistant for the West Virginia Quality of Life Survey grant, serves as co-editor of The Rural Criminologist newsletter, and will be a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Fall.
