Donna Selman, Ph.D.
Dr. Donna Selman brings a depth of experience as the founding chair of the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (MST) in which she is also Professor. Since her arrival at Indiana State University (2015), she has facilitated the creation of majors in Social Justice & Sociology and Visual Arts Administration. She will continue her work exploring the development of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs and international partnerships. On the national level, Dr. Selman has been an active member of the American Society of Criminology and has served as the Chair of the Division on Critical Criminology 2011 - 2015 and was awarded the Critical Criminologist of the Year (2010). Dr. Selman's research and teaching interests are concerned with fundamental questions about justice and inequality in society. She is the co-author of Punishment For Sale: Private Prisons, Big Business, and the Incarceration Binge (Rowman & Littlefield, 2011). She is currently working on Injustice while Seeking Social Justice: The Real Cost of Activism in the Academy.
