Rosemary Gido, Ph.D.

Dr. Gido joined the IUP Criminology Department faculty in 1997. She is editor of The Prison Journal and author of the recently published book Women’s Mental Health Needs Across the Criminal Justice System. Dr. Gido is the recipient of the 2007 Leadership Award of the Minority and Women’s Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Currently, she serves as the department’s internship coordinator and director for the Center for Research in Criminology. Her latest research focuses on the sociological study of immigrants and coal mining communities in central Montana and historical reenactments of mining and homesteading women from early twentieth-century Montana.
